We are going to take a look at why you’re not making money with Affiliate Marketing by understanding what you’re doing wrong and what you should be doing to do it right. I will explain why 99% of Affiliate Marketers fail with starting an online business, what it takes to succeed in this huge online hustle and the things you stay far away from when just starting. This is why you’re NOT making money with Affiliate Marketing, but could be.

Information Overload!

One of the main reasons people fail with Affiliate Marketing is because they literally think its easy. Most people who want to start an online business really have no clue where to start. Maybe you have a friend that’s doing it or you see a YouTube video on making money online or you’re reading a blog post like this one. You get all hyped up to join and start, but you’ve never done this before and you dive head first!

First thing you realize is “what the heck am I doing!?” I need a website, I need to understand marketing, I need to know about email marketing to follow up, I need to know about copy writing to catch the reader’s attention. Then it gets even more complicated, you find out that video marketing is better than written marketing because they get a better click through rate and indexed faster. That’s when you say what the heck is “indexed” you need to learn about SEO, you find out you need to learn about social media marketing, maybe start a YouTube channel to attract traffic, you need to learn about how to buy the right kinds of ads to drive traffic, and the list goes on and on, but all you want to do is “make money online” right?

So this is where people give up TOO MUCH INFORMATION and people usually want the easy way out. You want something that’s “turn key” you don’t want to put in the work and learn about all of this stuff. I will say this, it is a process and you have got to love the process. You should want to learn about everything you can to be the best you can be in your own business. It is a business and not just an investment you dump money into sit back and watch money roll in. This is one of the reasons you will quit. Maybe not you, but most people.

It Takes Time & Money

starting your own online business is like any other business, and with that said it takes time and investment to grow. I see all the time through “work from home” forums online that people don’t want to put any money into anything and want to make money online without having a bank account or pay or even learn a thing. Most of these types of people are the ones that get scammed because they think, or are talked into giving a certain amount of money for a reward of 10Xtimes their “so called investment” If you see garbage like that run the other way! and please never be foolish enough to think that if you send someone money through PayPal you’re going to get thousands of dollars back in an hour. These are scams!

Here is the thing, if you are serious about making real money online with a profitable future with reoccurring customers and cash flow then you need to learn the skill set to do so. It takes TEN THOUSAND HOURS of learning something to become a professional about it. This means hours a day on learning all the information mentioned above about websites, SEO, Marketing, Social Media, ETC… You need to invest in your online business and be patient because all good things come with time. This is NOT a get-rich-quick blueprint. If you want that, I suggest you play the Lotto or I hope your good at gambling.

Having Discipline & Ethics

To make money online and not become part of the 99% of people who fail means you should have goals set in place. You need to have a clear vision of what you want and a knowing of how to get there. While your friends are out partying you should be saving your money and working on your business. I know you’re thinking “Stay home working while my friends are having fun?” Bummer right? well here is the reality of the situation, if you’re not already successful in your business and you don’t already have the capital set aside to pay for marketing to drive traffic to your opt-in page or your website blog then this should be your focus. Now if you’re living paycheck-to-paycheck then you need to have your priorities in check. I’m not saying to become a hermit and not have fun, what I’m saying is you should know what you want, where you want to go in life, and how to get there.

Have goals set, whether they are weekly, monthly, yearly, or even daily. You need to have goals. You need to say “OK I’m going to produce a blog a week or two, I’m going to make a YouTube video every day” This could be one of your goals towards your success which is creating content, because without content you have nothing for people to be driven to. You could create life goals such as where you see your business going in the next 5, 10, 20 years. Or you could say your going to learn a new marketing technique every day. Having a goal in what you do makes it become that much more a reality.

Love What You Do

You gotta love what you do! If you’re in it just for the money then you’re going to fail. People who want to start an online business as an Affiliate Marketer think its easy money and MONEY, MONEY, MONEY. It is not all about the money. Making money is the reward you get for helping others. You need to do something you love to help others who have a problem to enjoy the journey of owning your own online business. You are a problem solver, what I mean by that is you have a solution for people looking for an answer. Whatever it may be, such as making money online, where to find the best weight loss program, what is the best beard wax, Etc… Etc… Etc. People are looking for something and you’re the answer.

If you don’t love what you do and you’re all the money then you will give up after a few months of not making the money you thought you would, or like your friend is or the guy on YouTube with the fancy cars and big houses. Like I mentioned before, this is a process and in order to continue with it you’ve got to create an online business around something you love or at least have interest in.
